Description
"Coexist gives voice to personal stories of victims, perpetrators, bystanders, journalists, scholars, and social commentators nearly a generation after the Rwanda genocide. It was made during the country's unprecedented social experiment in reconciliation, as 60,000 perpetrators were released from prison back into the communities where they pillaged and raped, and murdered nearly 800,000 people in 1994. Coexist and its four-lesson Teacher's Guide raise timeless questions about personal choice and accountability, forgiveness and reconciliation, dehumanization and rehumanization, while revealing the connection between genocide and bullying. Audiences are urged to reflect on the real-life stories of Rwandans to question their own reactions to violence and forgiveness, and feed crucial conversations in our communities about how we see difference and treat one another." --,Container.
